‘The goal is to win’ says Nakamura-Berta ahead of rookie F3 campaign
Kean Nakamura-Berta races with TRIDENT in 2027 and got up to speed in F3 across the Jerez and Barcelona tests

Kean Nakamura-Berta is targeting a fight for the championship in 2027 as he recently previewed his rookie campaign in Formula 3.
The British driver steps up with a strong single seater resume having won the 2025 Italian F4 and Euro 4 Championships and the 2026 Formula Regional Middle East Trophy.
Most recently, Nakamura-Berta finished third in the Formula Regional European Championship and was in Jerez and Barcelona testing with his new team TRIDENT ahead of next season.
“I'm super, super excited to get the season started,” he said. “Of course joining a team like TRIDENT with a vast history of winning in the championship and looking so strong, it's a really good place to start.
“F3 is a massive jump from the lower categories. It's the first time you're on an F1 weekend and it's a really surreal experience. But I think I'm in the right place, I have good people around me and I can't wait to start.”
Nakamura-Berta has had four days of running in the F3 car and made a fast start in Jerez, ending Day 1 with the quickest time.

When asked for his impressions of the car, the 18-year-old revealed the key areas he has to adapt too in the cockpit.
“The Formula 3 has a lot more power, and a lot more downforce,” he added. “The tyres interact in a different way compared to Formula Regional.
“But it's super, super fun to drive. I am loving every minute of it, every second.”
Nakamura-Berta will be driving with TRIDENT for the first time in his career although he does have experience racing for an Italian team.

The Williams Driver Academy member says life is good so far in his new home, shining a light on how well he has been treated by everyone within the team.
“They've been incredibly welcoming,” he said. “Of course, they are Italian, but they are from different parts of Italy.
“But they've embraced me nicely and the people here are amazing. They have loads of experience, all the engineers. Of course, Giacomo running the team is really good at managing people and on that side of things."
On the goal for 2027, Nakamura-Berta is keen to do what he has done in each year of his career, fighting for victories and championships.
“Well, I think the goal for everyone is to win the championship,” he said. “So hopefully we can fight for it. I think that's the goal.”
