Niccolò Maccagnani will race with TRIDENT for his rookie year in the 2027 FIA Formula 3 season

TRIDENT have signed Niccolò Maccagnani for the 2027 season – completing their lineup for the upcoming campaign following the announcements of Kean Nakamura-Berta and Sebastian Wheldon.
Maccagnani made the step up to single seaters in 2025 and finished second in the Formula Trophy. In 2026, the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy member finished fourth in the UAE4 Series with two victories and five podiums in total.
Maccagnani has also achieved two victories in this year’s Italian F4 Championship and took part in the final round of the Formula 3 season in Madrid.
The 16-year-old will now step up to F3 full time with TRIDENT and Team Manager Giacomo Ricci is delighted to have him onboard for 2027.
“We are delighted to announce the arrival of Niccolò Maccagnani at TRIDENT Motorsport," said Ricci. "Niccolò is a young driver who has already demonstrated his speed and potential, excelling in the junior formulae.
"The FIA Formula 3 Championship will represent a significant challenge, with cars and a competitiveness level that are higher than anything he has faced so far. We are ready to provide Niccolò with full support in this new phase of his career, working together to foster his growth and allow him to fully express his talents and perform a competitive season.”
