Van Amersfoort Racing have completed their roster for the 2024 FIA Formula 3 campaign with the confirmation of Sophia Floersch’s return to the Dutch team.
The Alpine Academy driver makes the switch from PHM Racing, after earning her and the team’s maiden points in the Spa-Francorchamps Feature Race this year.
After getting back behind the wheel for VAR at post-season testing and at the Macau Grand Prix, Floersch says she’s delighted to be reuniting with the team full-time for the upcoming campaign.
"I am super excited to be back with Van Amersfoort Racing, it feels like coming home. I have confidence in our ability to progress and deliver strong performances together in the upcoming FIA F3 season.”
The German driver brings with her plenty of single-seater experience. After racing in ADAC Formula 4 and European F3, she finished seventh in the 2019 Formula Regional European Championship with VAR, before making her F3 debut in 2020.
Switching to endurance and sportscar racing full-time the following year, Floersch is three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans participant, alongside having competed in DTM and the World Endurance Championship.
Frits van Amersfoort, Team Principal of Van Amersfoort Racing added: "Obviously we are very pleased to have Sophia back with us. We did Macau together this year which has been great. We believe that her experience in FIA F3 plus her familiarity with the team can benefit us next season."
