Sophia Floersch

BIOGRAPHY

Sophia Floersch started her racing career in the Ginetta Junior Championship back in 2015 before switching to single seaters in 2016 and Formula 4. She finished the ADAC F4 campaign 19th before going better the following year, recording two podium finishes. In 2018, she moved to FIA Formula 3 European Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing, finishing the season 22nd before the Macau Grand Prix at the end of the year, during which she suffered a spinal fracture following a dramatic crash. She made a recovery and was back racing the following year in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, going on to finish seventh in the Drivers’ Standings.

In 2020, Floersch made her FIA Formula 3 debut with Campos Racing, becoming the first woman to compete in the Championship since its formation. A spell away from the Championship included visits to Le Mans in LMP2 machinery before a return to FIA F3 in 2023 with PHM Racing by Charouz. Floersch went on to secure the team’s maiden F3 points at Spa-Francorchamps with a P7 finish on the way to 23rd in the Standings. She switches to Van Amersfoort Racing for the 2024 campaign.
