Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi: My Ultimate Driver

DAMS Lucas Oil’s Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi takes on the challenge of building his ideal racing driver. Combining Qualifying speed, wet weather ability and technical approaches, here’s the Thai driver’s perfect driver.
INTELLIGENCE
“I’ll go with like Alain Prost. Nicknamed ‘The Professor’ so it just makes sense. I think he's a really intelligent, really smart driver. So I'll go with Prost for intelligence for sure.”
WET WEATHER ABILITY
“That's easy: Ayrton Senna. I mean you could go with either Senna or Max Verstappen, but I think, I'll go with Senna. He was well known for The Lap of Gods around Donington, that was insane.”
QUALIFYING PACE
“It has to be Max. Suzuka last year, I think with what he had and how he managed to deliver, was incredible.”

TYRE MANAGEMENT
“Actually, I'll go for Alex Albon. I remember during his early years with Williams, he just managed the tyres, did so well to somehow end up in the points out of nowhere.”
SMOOTH DRIVING STYLE
“Carlos Sainz because he's a smooth operator!”

AGGRESSIVE STYLE
“ Oh, that's a good one. I think I'll go with Michael Schumacher. Or James Hunt, he was also really good. Actually, I'll go with Michael Schumacher. But his aggressiveness was really smart. He was really smart in being able to just be aggressive on the limit, so I would go for him.
“I think l go towards more of a smooth style. Not all the way though. There still needs to be some aggressiveness.”

__ANYTHING ELSE __
“I think personality. I think just the presence of personality, charismatic, good character. I’d add that.”
DREAM TEAM
“Ooh, let me think. For team principal, I'll go with... I'll go with Toto. Drivers… I’ll go past and present with Max Verstappen and Ayrton Senna. Car - it has to be like the early 2000s cars, the V10s just screaming.”
