Alessandro Giusti: My Ultimate Driver

Alessandro Giusti has certainly made an impression through his first two rounds in Formula 3, achieving a couple of points finishes for MP Motorsport.
The French rookie is now gearing up for the European leg of the calendar, but before the season started, we sat down with him and asked him to build his ultimate racing driver.
INTELLIGENCE
“I think Fernando Alonso, he is quite smart. He always has nice ways to defend on track and to attack so I think Alonso definitely.”

DRIVING IN THE WET?
“I think Lewis Hamilton. British guys, they know the wet well, so Hamilton I would say. I was one or two-years-old he won at Silverstone by a minute in the wet, so that was good.”
QUALIFYING
“Now I would say Charles Leclerc, he's always good in Qualifying, around Baku but also in Monaco he's done quite a few good things around there, so I would say Leclerc.”

CORNERING
“Hamilton again. Best driver on the grid.”
TYRE MANAGEMENT
“I think it has to be again Hamilton, no? He is quite good at tyre management, so I will pick Hamilton. I don't have one specific thing in mind, but in the races, he is quite good. Even when he had the battles with Verstappen, he was good with the tyres, and he won a race on three wheels.”

BRAVERY
“Max Verstappen. He takes a lot of risks, and it pays off for him, so for sure it's him.”
SMOOTHEST
“The smooth operator, Carlos Sainz. I like his hair first of all. I don't know him very well, but I know he's great worker. He has always been with teams in the midfield and found his way to bring them to the top so I would say that's why.”

OVERTAKING
“Verstappen or Alonso. I think between the two it's very close but Verstappen is quite nice. Around the outside of Rosberg in the wet in Brazil 2016, it was not bad. Alonso, we have quite a lot of moves as well, it's between the two, but I will go with Verstappen.”

WOULD YOU ADD ANYTHING ELSE?
“I would say the attacking of Verstappen, it's quite nice, it's not bad, so I'll take that.”
BUILD YOUR IDEAL TEAM
Team Principal: “James Vowles. He is a good guy, he is smart, and he is doing the right things to bring Williams to the top.” Driver: “Hamilton and Verstappen together. It would be amazing.” Car: “The Mercedes W11 from 2020, fastest car ever, I think. That one for sure.”
