FIA Formula 3 unveils 2027 calendar

The FIA Formula 3 Championship has announced its 2027 calendar, featuring 10 rounds across four continents and three exciting new venues: Jeddah, Montreal and Istanbul.

The campaign will bring Formula 3 to North America for the first time, while expanding further the Championship’s international footprint.

The season will begin in March with two back-to-back events. Sakhir, Bahrain, will host the opening round alongside Formula 1 and Formula 2 before the field travels to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where the 30 F3 cars will take on the fast and demanding Jeddah Corniche Circuit for the very first time.

Melbourne, Australia, will follow in April, before Formula 3 makes its historic North American debut in May. Montreal will host Round 4, offering the drivers another new challenge at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

The Championship will return to the streets of Monaco, in June for two back-to-back rounds will then take place in July, beginning at Silverstone, Great Britain, and followed by Spielberg, Austria.

After the summer break, the season will resume with another double-header. The teams and drivers will first compete at Monza, Italy, before travelling to Madrid, Spain.

Finally, the 2027 campaign will conclude at Istanbul, Türkiye, the third new venue on the calendar. Formula 3’s first visit to Istanbul Park will provide a demanding and fitting finale to a season of unprecedented geographical reach.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President said: ““Formula 3 is where many drivers begin to prove themselves on the international stage, and the 2027 calendar will give them an exceptional range of challenges where they can develop their skills. Racing in North America for the first time is an important milestone for the Championship, while the additions of Jeddah and Istanbul will test our drivers across demanding circuits.

“Providing young talent with these experiences is fundamental to building the future of our sport, and I look forward to watching this next generation rise to the challenge throughout the 2027 season.”

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1 said: "We have seen great racing in Formula 3 in 2026, including an incredible fight for the title, which ultimately went to the first ever American driver to win the Championship, and the 2027 season is set to build on that momentum with another exciting generation of young talent coming through the motorsport pyramid. Racing alongside Formula 1 is a unique opportunity for these drivers to develop their skills, showcase their potential and prepare themselves for the demands of the highest level of our sport. The 2027 calendar marks an exciting step for Formula 3, with the Championship visiting four continents and introducing new venues that will provide fresh challenges for drivers and teams alike. I would like to thank the FIA President and their entire team, Bruno Michel and his team, as well as our promoters, partners, officials, marshals and volunteers, whose dedication and commitment make the Championship possible. Formula 3 continues to play a vital role in developing the stars of tomorrow, and I look forward to another outstanding season of racing in 2027."

Bruno Michel, FIA Formula 3 CEO said: “The 2027 FIA Formula 3 calendar is groundbreaking, with three new venues that represent a formidable challenge for the teams and the drivers. It will be very exciting to see the F3 cars at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, and I’m extremely pleased to bring F3 to North America for the very first time thanks to the addition of Montreal to the calendar. Istanbul Park will host the season finale, another new challenge next season. Just like for F2, we will be covering freight costs so that the territorial expansion of the calendar does not financially impact our teams.”
