Hitech Grand Prix have confirmed that Pierre-Louis Chovet will continue to drive for the team at Round 8 in Monza, Italy.

The Frenchman made his FIA Formula 3 debut in Spa-Francorchamps, alongside Red Bull juniors Liam Lawson and Dennis Hauger.

Chovet didn’t score a point, taking 22nd in Race 1, and retiring from Race 2, but Hitech were pleased with his progress.

Chovet said: “From the Monday following my podium at Paul Ricard in Formula Regional, I’ve spent a solid prep week together with the team at Silverstone and Spa for my debut in FIA F3. It has been a rich learning experience and I’m now more confident with this powerful single seater.

“I’m really grateful for the confidence placed in me from Hitech GP and Travel Planet. Now let’s focus on Monza where I will do my best to bring the team a consistent result.”

Chovet made his single-seater debut in French Formula 4, back in 2017, competing in nine rounds and taking one victory. He then stepped up to the Championship full-time in 2018, finishing in sixth place, with one win and four podiums.

The Frenchman has been racing in Formula Regional this season, and currently sits sixth in the standings, taking two podiums in the previous round at Paul Ricard.
