TRIDENT’s Charlie Wurz takes on the Would you Rather challenge and gives his thoughts on all the toughest questions.

From endurance racing, running and everything outside of the sport, here is how Wurz got on.

BE A FAMOUS SINGER OF ACTOR?

“Probably a famous actor because I really cannot sing and it seems less like less drama than acting.”

WIN YOUR HOME GRAND PRIX ONCE OR THE MONACO GP MULTIPLE TIMES?

“Well… I have a few home races and one of them is the Monaco Grand Prix, so if I say my home race, it could technically be three Monaco race wins.”

WIN THE INDY 500 OR THE 24 HOURS OF LE MANS?

“24 Hours of Le Mans. I’ve been once when my dad was racing and it’s amazing. It’s unbelievable how the endurance side of the sport is and how accessible it is for fans. It’s an amazing race and I hope to do it one day, maybe with my dad. It’s been a dream of mine since being a kid. My brother is in Eurocup-3 and now my dad is a little older but still has talent, but hopefully we can get a car together and enter as a team.”

WIN FROM POLE OR LAST?

“It depends. If my mum was watching I’d say win from pole because it’s less stressful, but a win from the back of the grid is always – fighting through the field is so fun. Risky at times, enjoyable but a win from the back of the grid is amazing.”

PERMANENT TRACK OR STREET CIRCUIT?

“Street track. Now there’s a lot more street tracks than there used to be but having done Macau and Monaco, I prefer street tracks, especially Macau. It’s very fun and different to what I’ve done before. The risk you have to put in for a driver is so on the limit, and you need a good car, but it depends on how much you risk. And Monaco, you know whoever is on pole is a good driver. You could end up in the wall or at the front, and the smallest gaps make the difference.”

KARAOKE OR DANCE OFF?

“Well, both aren’t something I would do. Karaoke seems a bit easier. I can’t dance and my dancing is definitely worse than my singing, so I’ll go with karaoke.”

FRONT ROW AT FASHION WEEK OR THE OSCARS?

“I’ve never really watched either to be honest, but I’d probably go with the Oscars. I know very little about the Oscars, but I know nothing about fashion week.”

WIN THE TITLE WITHOUT A WIN OR TAKE MULTIPLE WINS AND MISS THE TITLE?

“That’s a great question. I think win the title to be honest. These days, if you win F3 you have a better chance of making it to F1. The competition is so high so while it’s always good to win races, winning the Championship is more important.”

TOO HOT OR TOO COLD

“Too hot. I think most people would say too hot because it’s never nice to be too cold.”

BECOME A ROCKSTAR OR ASTRONAUT

“Astronaut for sure. To go to space and explore planets and whatever you do, it would be amazing. To be in the International Space Station looking down on Earth, I can’t imagine how that would feel.”

DISCOVER A NEW ISLAND OR FIND A NEW PLANET IN SPACE

“Hmm, probably discovering a new planet would take a lot of time in my life, so discovering a new island would be my pick.”

EAT WITH A SPOON OR A FORK FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE

“To be honest, at home when my mum’s not there, I eat with a spoon more than a fork just to save on utensils, so I’ll stick with a spoon.”

READ PEOPLE’S MINDS OR KNOW EVERY LANGAUGE

“I think it’s not great to know what everyone’s thinking all the time. Speaking every language would make travelling very fun. So, you don’t want to know what’s going on in people’s heads and what they think of you, it’s better to focus on you, so every language.”

DRY TYRES ON A WET TRACK OR WET TYRES ON A DRY TRACK

“Dry tyres on a wet track is never fun. I would say wet tyres on a dry track.”

TRAIN FOR 100-METRE SPRINT OR MARATHON

“Train for a marathon. I really enjoy endurance running. I did quite a long race – 30Km – a while ago. I hated sprinting at school, but in endurance I’m good. It’s just my thing.”

UNDERDRESSED OR OVERDRESSED

“Overdressed. I would say overdressed, sometimes I dress casual but it’s easier to be overdressed than the other way around.”
