PREMA Racing confirms Alex Powell for remainder of 2026 season
Alex Powell has been confirmed at PREMA Racing for the remainder of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season

Alex Powell will race for PREMA Racing in Monza and Madrid. The Italian team confirmed he would be the driver alongside James Wharton and Jose Garfias after confirming the departure of Louis Sharp ahead of Monza.
Powell has raced for PREMA in lower categories, winning the Italian F4 Rookie Championship with the team back in 2024. The American-Jamaican driver finished as runner up in the UAE F4 season in 2025, and is currently sixth in the 2026 Eurocup 3 standings.
Speaking about his step up to F3, Powell said that he was excited to get up to speed with the team during the Madring test ahead of the final two rounds of the season.
"It means a lot to be coming back to PREMA. This team gave me my first opportunity in single-seaters, and returning for the final part of the F3 2026 season is a great opportunity to show what I can do. I can't wait to get in the car, and I’ll give it everything."
PREMA Team Principal and CEO Stephen Mitas added: "We're delighted to welcome Alex back to PREMA. He's a driver we know well, and one who has already shown us what he can do in F4. His pace, racecraft and attitude make him a strong fit to contest the remainder of the season, and we're looking forward to working together again.”
