Maini and Simmons receive post-Qualifying penalties

MP Motorsport’s Kush Maini and Charouz Racing System’s Ayrton Simmons have been penalised following the opening Formula 3 Qualifying session of the season in Sakhir.
Maini will start both the Sprint and Feature Races from the pitlane after failing to stop at the FIA weighbridge when signalled to do so.
Maini was set to begin Sunday’s Feature Race from third and Saturday’s Sprint Race from 10th. On the Sprint Race starting grid, everyone behind Grégoire Saucy moves up one position.

Simmons has been handed a three-place grid penalty for Saturday’s Sprint Race after he was found guilty of impeding Alexander Smolyar towards the end of the Qualifying.
Simmons ended Qualifying in Bahrain 29th fastest, and with the grid drop applied, he will now occupy the final starting position on the grid for Saturday’s race.
