Leonardo Fornaroli wins Dallara Best Overtake Award for title-clinching pass at Monza

It turned out to be the title-winning manoeuvre and Leonardo Fornaroli has added another trophy to his 2024 collection, earning the Dallara Best Overtake Award.
After a back-and-forth race that changed the destination of the Drivers’ Championship crown, Fornaroli ended up in a position he’d feared entering the round.
However, the Trident driver would not be denied, even as he was about to lose the title entering the final lap of the season.
Pulling out of the slipstream at the last possible second, Fornaroli had already decided he’d be attempting the pass at Parabolica.
Going wheel-to-wheel with Christian Mansell, Fornaroli sliced his way down the inside of the Australian driver and hauled himself back into title-winning position, all under the pressure of the title fight and at the last corner of the last race of the season.
Accepting the trophy at the Prize Giving Ceremony, Fornaroli said he was very happy to add another award to his 2024 season record.
“It’s amazing to have this trophy as well. It’s the best feeling for me. I’m so grateful that what I did in the last corner has been appreciated by everyone, so I’m super happy and thank you to Dallara for this award.”
