As the season draws to a close on FIA Formula 3 in 2022 following a dramatic finale at Monza, it’s time for the cars to take to the track for the final time at the Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Starting on Wednesday, the Championship’s final official post-season test will give drivers and teams a chance to draw a line under their 2022 campaigns and an opportunity to shift focus towards preparations for the new season.
The three-day event takes place on September 21-23 at the Spanish circuit, which played host to one of two in-season tests earlier this year. Each day will be split into a morning and an afternoon session, with a total of 18 hours of track time available across the test.
On all three days, the morning session will begin at 9:00 local time (GMT+2) and end at 12:00. Wednesday and Thursday’s afternoon sessions get underway at 14:00 until 17:00, while Friday’s final session will start at 13:00 and conclude at 16:00.
The white-walled Pirelli hard compounds will be in action, with each car allocated eight sets of slick tyres and three sets of wets for the duration of the test.

__THE FIELD __
- The 2022 post-season Formula 3 field features plenty of exciting talent on Day 1, with 16 new faces lining up alongside 14 established names who’ve already experienced at least a race weekend at the wheel of Formula 3 machinery.
- Of the returnees taking to the track on the first day of testing, 10 have contended at least a season in the third tier, including race winner Franco Colapinto and podium sitters Zak O’Sullivan, Grégoire Saucy and Reece Ushijima.
- Meanwhile four drivers, Oliver Goethe, Christian Mansell, Sebastian Montoya and Alessandro Famularo hit the track in Jerez having gotten their first taste of a Formula 3 race weekend in 2022.
- Of the 10 drivers taking part in the test after a campaign in 2022, just three - Josep María Martí, Rafael Villagómez and Grégoire Saucy - remain with the same team, joining back up with Campos Racing, Van Amersfoort Racing and ART Grand Prix respectively.
- Just one team, Jenzer Motorsport, fields three brand new faces on the first day of testing, all other teams will see at least one driver from the 2022 campaign return.
- A total of 13 nationalities are represented on the first day of testing at the Circuito de Jerez.
