Fewtrell handed Race 2 grid drop, Nannini penalty revised

Max Fewtrell has been given a three-place grid drop for Race 2 tomorrow in Silverstone, following a collision with Ollie Caldwell in Race 1 this morning. While, Matteo Nannini has seen an in-race 10-second time penalty revised to only five seconds.

Fewtrell made contact with Caldwell at Turn 17 towards the end of the race, which sent the Trident racer into a spin. Having examined video evidence extensively, the stewards have found the Hitech Grand Prix driver to be responsible for the collision.

Fewtrell – who retired from the race as a result of the crash – has been handed a three-place grid drop and will start the race from the back of the grid. Nannini was given a 10-second time penalty during Race 1 for exceeding the minimum delta time in four consecutive marshalling sectors while under safety car conditions.

The stewards have since examined data evidence and determined that the Jenzer driver actually only exceeded the limit in three marshalling sectors, not four, and as such, have revised the penalty to just five seconds. Despite the revised penalty, Nannini remains in 24th place.
