David Vidales’ time penalty reversed

David Vidales received a 10-second time penalty during today’s Sprint Race at the Red Bull Ring, for causing a collision with Zdenek Chovanec. The Campos Racing driver was dropped to P24 after the chequered flag once the penalty was applied.
However, following a petition to review from the Spanish team, a significant and relevant new piece of evidence has come to light that was not available at the time of the initial decision. Chovanec stated that there had been no contact between the two cars and that despite the close distance between the two cars at the apex of Turn 3, he had spun because of a misapplication of the throttle.
As a result, Vidales now classifies P18, which demotes Kush Maini, Brad Benavides, Federico Malvestiti, Hunter Yeany, László Tóth and Nazim Azman all down one place each.
