After an action-packed opening round of the 2025 season in Melbourne, the paddock is set to reconvene again, this time in Sakhir, for three days of in-season testing.
The Bahrain International Circuit, the venue for Round 2 in April, will give the drivers and teams another opportunity to learn as much as possible about the new Formula 3 car, before competitive action resumes.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Testing is set to run from March 26-28, with the drivers getting five hours of running time on all three days in Bahrain.
The morning session on each day starts at 09:30 local time and will run until 12:00. After the break, the cars will be back out on track at 15:15 local time in the afternoon, for another two and a half hours of action, before the chequered flag is waved at 17:45.
Pirelli will also be allocating Six sets of the Hard tyre and two sets of the Mediums to each car for the duration of the test, plus three sets of wet tyres should they be required.
THE FIELD / STAT PACK
• TRIDENT driver Rafael Câmara currently leads the Drivers’ Championship after winning from Pole Position in the Melbourne Feature Race.
• The top three in the Drivers' Standings are made up of entirely rookies with Câmara leading Van Amersfoort Racing’s Théophile Nael and TRIDENT teammate Noah Stromsted.
• The last time Formula 3 tested in Bahrain in 2024, Noel León, now driving for PREMA Racing, was fastest on Day 1.
• In last year’s Bahrain test, Luke Browning and Hitech set the fastest time with a 1:46.566 on Day 2.
• The Bahrain International Circuit is 5.412Kms long, has 15 corners, and possesses two DRS zones – the first along the main straight, and the second between Turns 10 and 11.
WHERE TO FOLLOW
In-season testing from Sakhir will be covered on the official FIA F3 website with end-of-day reports following the chequered flag on each of the three days, along with driver reactions.
