Olli Caldwell and Johnathan Hoggard have both been served five second time penalties following today’s Race 2 at the Hungaroring.

Caldwell has been handed the penalty for causing a collision with Oliver Rasmussen. The PREMA Racing driver attempted to pass the Dane going into Turn 1, but did not achieve a significant overlap and collided with the HWA RACELAB.

Having examined video evidence, the Stewards determined that Rasmussen had the right to use the full track and deemed Caldwell to be solely at fault. Both cars managed to get going again after a spell in the pits but finished at the back of the field. Caldwell remains last with the penalty applied.

Hoggard has been penalised for forcing Tijmen Van der Helm off track. The MP Motorsport driver had attempted a move on Hoggard at Turn 1 and the Stewards determined that the Dutchman had gained sufficient advantage around the outside and was entitled to be left room on the track.

However, Hoggard continued to make use of the full width of the track, forcing the MP Motorsport wide, while also exceeding track limits and retaining the position.

The Jenzer Motorsport driver finished in 19th place and drops to 22nd with the penalty applied.
