Alex Peroni has been handed a 10 second stop & go penalty. Following today’s Race 1 at the Hungaroring, the Stewards have found that the Campos driver had made contact with David Beckmann at Turn 1 earlier.

The Stewards determined that the ART Grand Prix driver was on the inside of the corner while Peroni was on the outside as both cars approached Turn 1. The latter moved to the right forcing Beckman onto the kerb near the apex of the corner, ultimately colliding with the ART car. Beckmann was forced to retire in the pits with a damaged wishbone. The Stewards deemed that Peroni was wholly at fault and thus penalised him.

The 10 second stop & go penalty was converted to a 30 second time penalty in the final classification for Race 1. Peroni, who had crossed the finish line 13th now classifies P26.
