Max Esterson will replace Hunter Yeany in the #21 Rodin Carlin car for the Silverstone and Budapest rounds the team has confirmed.

The American racer arrives in FIA Formula 3 having raced in GB3 in 2022 and 2023. He is currently 14th in the Drivers' Standings with seven points-scoring finishes.

Esterson's racing career began online competing on iRacing before transitioning to cars, racing in the United States in 2020.

Since stepping up to GB3, he took his maiden win at Donington Park last season alongside a further two podium finishes. Now, Esterson says he's excited to tackle the transition to new machinery around the Silverstone track that he's already well-versed with.

“Racing at the British Grand Prix this weekend in my FIA F3 debut will be quite surreal. I know jumping into a championship like this with such little experience will be difficult but at least I know Silverstone well and the team proved to be really strong there last year. A big thanks to Rodin Carlin for having me and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve.”

Team Principal Trevor Carlin added: “We’re pleased to welcome Max to the team this weekend. He will have a lot to learn very quickly, but he has a great team around him and will make his F3 debut on track his familiar with. Making progress with every session will be the aim and I look forward to seeing what he can achieve.”

Round 7 in Silverstone will get underway from 7-9 July.
