Two drivers have received penalties following the conclusion of Round 6’s Sprint Race in Spielberg.

Title contender Arthur Leclerc has been handed a five-place grid drop for the next race the PREMA Racing driver participates in for causing a collision with teammate Jak Crawford. During the final lap of this morning’s event, Leclerc tried to execute an overtake on the inside of Turn 12. However, the Monegasque driver missed the apex and the Stewards deemed him to be wholly responsible for the resulting contact. Leclerc had qualified in P4 but will now line up in P9 for the Feature Race in Budapest.

Secondly, Brad Benavides has been awarded a five-place grid drop for the next race participates in, after being found wholly responsible for causing a collision with Ido Cohen. The Stewards determined that while attempting to overtake the Jenzer Motorsport car at Turn 1, Benavides misjudged his breaking and caused the pair to collide. The Carlin driver had qualified in P25 and as a result will start Sunday’s Feature Race from the back of the grid.
