It could hardly have gone much better for Campos Racing around the streets of Monte Carlo. The Spanish outfit achieved Pole Position in the hands of Nikola Tsolov, and the Bulgarian driver went on to record a record-breaking fifth FIA F3 victory on Sunday.

Teammate Mari Boya ensured that the team had two pieces of silverware to take back to the workshop, after achieving a seasons-best result of P3 in the Feature Race to stand alongside Tsolov on the podium.

Speaking afterwards, Team Principal Adrián Campos Jr was effusive in his praise of both his drivers and the team, as they achieved a hugely impressive points haul on Sunday morning.

“We are extremely happy. In terms of F3, I couldn’t be happier. Mari was able to go a bit quicker like Nikola and we saw that at the end of the race, but I think Nikola managed the race perfectly.

“He was just driving and saving tyres in the beginning, and then at the end, he decided to see what his pace really was, and ended up doing the fastest lap which I think was a second quicker than the next best.

“So we’re very happy with the performance and we’re looking forward to keeping the momentum up for our home race in Barcelona.”

With the final leg of the triple header fast approaching, there is little time to celebrate, and attentions have already been laser-focused on a home event for Campos in Barcelona.

While there’s extra motivation to perform well on home turf in front of a raucous Spanish crowd, Campos Jr says he’s eager to maintain the momentum the Monaco results have created.

“Monaco is always special, but in the end, we want to be quick wherever we go. Monaco is a unique race, but it gives you the same number of points as any other race.

“So we have to keep working and keep this momentum up for the rest of the season.

“A strong result in Barcelona is what we want to do now. We have home drivers in both F2 and F3, in Pepe and Mari, so we’re looking forward to getting some good points and fight for the podium, if not the win.”

Tsolov’s second win of the season and fifth all-time in F3 moved the Red Bull Junior Team driver inside the top three of the Drivers’ Championship, climbing to third and 16 points off leader Rafael Câmara.

Boya’s P3 on Sunday was hugely important in his season also, as it lifted the Spaniard to 10th place and just eight points from the top six.

His Team Principal was extremely happy for him especially after a tough start to the 2025 campaign when his speed has been obvious within the team.

“I think Mari is one of the unluckiest guys in F3. It’s always something out of his control, so when everything goes well and nothing goes wrong, normally he’s very quick and he’s up there.

“He fights for race wins and fights for pole. He deserves a bit more of this for the rest of the season because he’s very quick and he’s working very hard.”

With eyes now firmly focused on the home weekend in Barcelona, Campos Jr says that despite their hugely successful weekend in Monaco, nothing will be taken for granted.

The team knows what it takes to win around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, but the eponymous team boss says that no stone will be left unturned as they pursue another race victory on home soil.

“There’s no reason why we can’t continue. Anything can happen, and we know this Championship is very difficult and it’s very tough. The level is extremely high, and we need to keep working as well as we are now to stay up there, and we will keep doing so.

“But you never know. Maybe we arrive in Barcelona and one team is quicker than us. We want to avoid that scenario happening, and we will be doing our best to repeat Monaco’s results in Barcelona.”
