Richard Verschoor will continue his FIA F3 World Cup winning partnership with MP Motorsport, signing on for another year with the Netherlands’ based outfit. A Dutchman himself, the 19-year-old from Benschop will join Bent Viscaal and Lukas Dunner at the team.

Verschoor will take on his second year of F3 and look to build on three fourth place finishes, which included two in Monza, Italy. This was capped off by his victory in Macau, where he became the first rookie to win the stand-alone event since 2008.

"I am happy to continue in FIA Formula 3 together with MP Motorsport and TeamNL", Verschoor said. "Last year saw an upward trend in the second half of the season, culminating in that amazing victory at Macau where everything just clicked.

“I’m eager to continue this trend, and I'm confident that I can be a frontrunner in 2020."

The Dutchman will embark on his fifth season of single-seater racing, which began back in 2016 with a remarkable double of the SMP and Spanish F4 titles. Verschoor would spend the next 18 months competing in Formula Renault, before he made the transition to GP3, where he finished 15th after eight races.

Alongside compatriot Viscaal – also set for his sophomore season in F3 - and Austrian rookie Dunner, Verschoor will look to compete at the front and help MP to improve upon their sixth-place finish in 2019, where they scored 77 points.

"It is good news that we will continue working together with Richard," added team manager Sander Dorsman. "Last year, we showed lots of promise in FIA F3 but now we aim for podiums and more victories.”
