Hadjar on growing up in the heart of Paris: “We eat much better than in the UK!”

Hitech Grand Prix racer Isack Hadjar takes us on a trip around the French capital, the place he grew up and still calls home. We look at where to visit, the best places to eat and of course, the motorsport scene.
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
“Paris – it is where I’ve lived my whole life, so I enjoy this place. This year I’m travelling a lot, so I don’t get to spend much time there, but when I do, I try to see my friends and take time to study – nothing crazy.
“The weather’s not that great. There’s lots of people, but people aren’t that great to be honest!”
WHERE SHOULD TOURISTS VISIT?
“Visit the Louvre Museum, it’s huge! It’s the place to go. Even around the Louvre itself, it’s quite beautiful. We also have the Eiffel Tower, which is enjoyable.
“We don’t have a beach. I don’t have a swimming pool at home because I live in an apartment, so I think the South of France is the best option.”

WHERE SHOULD PEOPLE EAT AND DRINK?
“We eat really well, much better than in the UK! I love Japanese food. You need to go to the North of Paris to find the Japanese area, there’s a lot of traditional restaurants and you can try it – it's very good. Ramen is the best."

MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHERE CAN WE GO KARTING?
“Actually, I never went go-karting in Paris, I never found a place. I know a few places just outside of Paris, but they’re not very fancy places so I don’t recommend them.”
