Ugo Ugochukwu handed grid penalty for both Monza races

Championship hopeful Ugo Ugochukwu has been awarded a grid drop for this weekend in Monza

Following the conclusion of Practice in Monza, Ugo Ugochukwu has been handed a grid penalty for causing a collision.

The Campos Racing driver was alleged to have caused a collision with Car 6 belonging to TRIDENT driver Matteo De Palo.

After the session, the Stewards heard from both drivers and team representatives and examined video evidence.

The Stewards determined that Car 2 had crowded Car 6 off the circuit and was therefore wholly at fault for the collision, breaching Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2 (d) of the FIA International Sporting Code.

As a result, they applied a five-place grid penalty to the Campos driver. Ugochukwu will serve the penalty in both the Sprint and Feature Races this weekend in Monza.
