The aura of Iron Man and Michael Schumacher: Enzo Deligny on his 2026 Helmet Design

Enzo Deligny recently talked about his 2026 helmet design, how it was inspired by Iron Man, Michael Schumacher and his Chinese heritage

Enzo Deligny has certainly caught the eye this season, not only with his performances but with his eye-catching helmet in the car.

The Van Amersfoort Racing driver recently sat down to talk about the design, and how it was inspired by Iron Man and by his Chinese heritage.

“So my helmet, I actually designed it myself when I was five. I have basically always kept the same one because it's important to have your identity as a driver and not change every year.

“I like putting the squares here because I thought I was Iron Man. So I thought it was pretty cool. The flowers are like Chinese flowers.

Deligny has his Chinese name written at the back of his helmet

“Then on the back is my Chinese name, so it's representing my Chinese side, and then red chrome because when I grew up it was Schumacher who was dominant so the red helmet was really similar to him.

“It’s chrome as well so it really sparks very well, and then in karting, with red and it being bright, you can always see it from afar. So it was easy for my dad to see me even when I would like spin on the other side of the track, he could see that it was me.

“But otherwise I've kept it not too complicated and kept it the same.

“I thought Iron Man had a lot of aura so I made it red and a bit similar to him. At the front, that’s just details.

Deligny says Michael Schumacher and Iron Man are huge inspirations behind his design

“If I were to do another helmet, I would do the same design but in white, and then with gold flowers would be cool. But I've never done a one-off design.

“For next year, I might add a couple sponsors, like The Grid, my agency and then a couple of other sponsors and then we'll see.

“I'm pretty happy with it. It's always been fairly similar so it's just my identity. So people, they see this helmet they know it's me.
