Piastri denies news of Alpine F1 promotion for 2023

Oscar Piastri has denied news that he will be racing for Alpine, after the French team announced they would be promoting him to Formula 1 for the 2023 season.
Following back-to-back FIA Formula 3 and Formula 2 titles, the Australian served as their reserve driver for this year and earlier on Tuesday, the team released a statement saying that the 21-year-old would be promoted to a full-time seat alongside Esteban Ocon for next season.
However, Piastri took to social media to announce that: "I understand that, without my agreement, Alpine F1 have put out a press release late this afternoon that I am driving for them next year," he wrote.
"This is wrong and I have not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023. I will not be driving for Alpine next year."
