Adrian Campos: 'It's amazing to win back-to-back titles but we must continue to improve'

Campos Racing successfully retained the FIA Formula 3 Teams' Championship title, securing the title on home soil in Madrid.

The Spanish outfit had all three drivers in the points on Saturday in Feature Race 1, and eponymous Team Principal Adrian Campos was pleased to add a second F3 title to their history.

However, the Campos team boss was eager to underline the job was not done yet, with expectations to fight for the remaining titles across F3 and FIA Formula 2 this season.

"Right now, I am 25% satisfied. There are still three more that we need to do our best to achieve. Tomorrow, there is another race, Ugo needs to do the job and try to win the Drivers' Championship.

"It's amazing winning back-to-back here in FIA F3, but something that we lost last year was the Drivers' Championship, and this is something that obviously is a goal this year also, so we can keep improving every year.

"Every year, our goal is to improve what we did in the previous one and it's happening so far. Regarding F3, if we win both championships, then our goal will be defending it, and we will do our best to do it. But we can always do better.

"Everyone will be improving, everyone will learn, we'll get better, we'll get quicker and we will need to in order to stay here, and we will do our best so we can do that."

Leading the team's charge in Feature Race 1, Ugo Ugochukwu finished up fourth and drew level on points in the Drivers' Championship, leading the way on countback courtesy of two race victories to Freddie Slater's one.

Campos praised his driver's performances across 2026, highlighting that all three have impressed, with Théophile Nael and Ernesto Rivera still in contention to finish inside the top five in the Standings.

"All of them have been outstanding, especially Ugo, because he's the one that is now leading and has the chance to win the Drivers' title tomorrow," Campos continued.

"But the other two have been always there. We arrived here P2, P3 and P4 in the championship, so having three drivers in the top four is something that we need to be proud of, so I'm very happy with that.

"Ernesto especially, because he missed the first round because of an injury and when he was back in the car, he was really strong, brought a lot of points and wins to the team."

Looking ahead to Sunday's curtain-closing Feature Race, Campos underlined that nothing was settled yet in terms of the Drivers' Championship battle.

While Ugochukwu goes from second on the grid and Slater is in eighth, Saturday's Feature Race showed that nothing is certain.

The Campos Team Principal added that the team would endeavor to maximise their chances by staying ahead of the TRIDENT driver, rather than go all out for glory.

"This is a circuit that is not easy to overtake around, so after the quali that we had, the bad luck that Freddie had in Qualifying, everything has gone a bit more in our favour.

"But, we need to keep doing what we have been doing, stay out of trouble, make no mistakes, no crashes and finish the race in the points and in front of Freddie. That's our goal tomorrow."
