Arvid Lindblad has made an impressive start to life in FIA Formula 3, winning the opening Sprint Race of the year in Sakhir before finishing on the podium once again in Melbourne.

We thought it was a good time to learn more about the PREMA Racing rookie as he talks us through his early racing memories, the winning feeling, before revealing which track on the calendar he is excited to visit.

WHAT IS YOUR FIRST RACING MEMORY?

“The first time I went to the kart track when I was five at Buckmore Park. I was watching the drivers, and the cars go round and round and I thought that that was something that I wanted to do.”

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RACING STYLE?

“I'm not sure how I would describe it. On the track I am aggressive, and I like to take opportunities. I take risks, and I'm not really one to sit about. I definitely say that that if there is an opportunity to get stuck in or to go for a move or if I need to be defending a position, I'd say I do it aggressively.

WHO IS YOUR RACING HERO?

“I would say my racing hero is Ayrton Senna.”

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST RACING ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR?

“So far I'd say that it was winning in Macau last year.”

WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A RACING DRIVER?

“The feeling of winning a race, that emotion, that passion, and that sort of relief afterwards because it's so tense and stressful before and when you get that feeling on the podium you know you've done well. Every time you win it's a similar feeling, of course if the race is more prestigious then you feel it a bit more but even if you win a small race, it still feels good.”

HOW DO YOU RELAX AWAY FROM RACING?

“It's not the easiest thing to do because I get quite busy. I'd say I just try to relax with my friends at home. Honestly when I am away from the track I try to avoid thinking about racing because it takes up so much of my life that when I get the opportunity to be away, I try to hang out with my mates and just disconnect.”

DO YOU HAVE ANY SECRET TALENTS OUTSIDE OF RACING?

“Not really. I don't think so, I don’t think I have one. At least I can't think of any talent right now.”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TRACK ON THE FORMULA 3 CALENDAR?

“Which one am I looking forward to the most? I would say my home race at Silverstone. I am definitely looking forward to that weekend.”
