The FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 Championships are pleased to introduce the Aramco Pole Position Award. This new trophy is the first award of its kind for F2 and F3 drivers since the inception of both championships.

The Aramco Pole Position Award will be presented on Fridays to the F2 and F3 drivers with the fastest lap time in their qualifying sessions, who will then start from Pole Position on Sunday during the feature race. The first Pole Position Award will be presented at 16.35 CET (F3) and 16.40 CET (F2) at the Emillia Romagna GP, Imola in the F2 and F3 Paddock.

In addition to leveraging a contemporary design, this award showcases Aramco’s leadership in innovation and technology by utilising materials such as carbon fibre to produce the trophy.

Formula 2 and Formula 3 CEO, Bruno Michel, said: “I am very pleased to introduce the Aramco Pole Position Award from this weekend onwards. Thank you to our partner Aramco for this beautiful trophy, which embodies our mutual ambition to achieve innovation and excellence in our sport. This award is a great addition to both our championships. F2, F3 and Aramco share the same vision to support the future of lower-carbon fuels and transportation solutions.”

Khalid A. Al Zamil, Aramco Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, said: “This is another exciting milestone in our partnership with the FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 Championships, as we continue supporting their efforts to progress toward lowering emissions. We are also proud to play a part in the development of young talent and the next generation of F1 drivers. We hope this innovatively designed trophy becomes a coveted addition to the F2 and F3 championships. This trophy builds on our success to date as the supplier of lower-carbon fuels to all 52 F2 & F3 cars. F2 & F3 serve as key testing grounds, seeing how these fuels perform on the track to learn how to develop lower-carbon fuel alternatives to conventional fuels in the future.”
