Interview
Alessandro Giusti is excited to be racing in Formula 3 next season with MP Motorsport and already has eyes on a few areas that need improving before he hits the ground running in 2025.
The Frenchman makes the step up from the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, where he finished fourth in the Standings this year with seven podiums, two of which were victories.
Prior to that, he was crowned the 2022 French F4 Champion and now he is set to race in Formula 3, an opportunity he is eager to start.
2024 Formula 3 Season Review Part Two: An ending like no other
“I’m feeling excited,” said Giusti of his step up to F3. “We have the new car for 2025, so I am happy also to be in FIA F3, which is a big event.
“You go to Australia, go to Bahrain, it's amazing. The tracks are amazing, the old car was amazing to drive, hopefully the next car is as well, so excited and happy to be in F3.”
Giusti did four days of post-season testing in Jerez and Barcelona with MP and afterwards he gave his first impressions of the F3 car and his adaptation to it.
“It's quite different to FRECA,” he revealed. “I am changing teams as well so you have to build up with the team and build up my driving as well which is completely different to FRECA.
“The aero is different, the brakes are different, so you have to get used to that but so far, I am happy with that.
“Jerez was a bit hard, because I didn't know the car or the track, physically it's a tough track but Barcelona was a bit better physically than Jerez, so it was better, I was racing better.
2024 Formula 3 Season Review Part One: The title contenders make themselves known
“I still need to work on a few points compared to Tim (Tramnitz) and Bruno (del Pino). I think we have a good lineup to work with, it went well in Barcelona, we were quite fast in quali sim and race sim so happy with that.”
Asked to explain what areas he feels he needs to improve, Giusti replied: “In F3 you only have one push, that's different to FRECA where you nearly have five pushes in quali, so to put everything together, to not make mistakes, to put everything together on the first lap is quite hard.
“In FRECA you can make mistakes on the first lap, it's not a problem you have the second or third lap, but in F3 we have to work on that and work on a new car as well.”
The 2025 campaign will be one of change for the 18-year-old as not only will he be racing in a new Championship, but he will be doing it with MP, a new team.
He revealed that his acclimatisation has been made easier with there being several French engineers in the team, and he is confident they can do a strong job together as a unit.

That starts over the winter as he continues his preparations for the season.
“The most important thing will be to be ready physically,” he said. “Then I think we have some simulator work to prepare for pre-season.
“It's a bit calm this winter, we don’t have so much testing in F3, so we just have to get ready physically and be ready as much as possible for the season.”
