Interview
Rodin Motorsport Team Manager was thrilled as the outfit along with rookie Callum Voisin secured their first race victory of the 2024 campaign at Spa-Francorchamps.
The British driver earned Pole Position on Friday with a great lap to start from P1 and handled multiple Safety Car restarts in the Feature Race en route to the win.
Waple says it was finally the proof in improvement of the driver and team’s performance in 2024 and a nice bonus to carry into the summer break.
“It's actually a good way to send off that part of the season and then go into holiday mode. I think everyone will go in to that proud.
“We came here confident that we had good pace in the car. Callum did his bit on Friday and got the pole which was great. What was nice was that it was just pure pace, he delivered when he needed to and the performance on the team was good.
“That seemed to transfer throughout the whole weekend, didn't really matter what conditions it was whether it was a greasy track yesterday morning in the Sprint Race or today in a fully dry race, it didn't seem to matter.
“So, it was it was nice to have the pace all weekend and actually realise the results. Like we said earlier in the year, we've seen that there's been good pace in both driver and team and often missed opportunities. So, it's really nice to see this weekend they will come together.”
It was the team’s first victory in FIA F3 including the seasons under previous guises, a hugely gratifying moment says Waple.
The Rodin Team Manager paid tribute to all of the staff that got the team to the top step after some tough races. After finding more and more performance as the 2024 campaign has gone on, the team is fully deserving of their victory says Waple.

“We have team members within this team that were here when we first started this category in 2019 that are still here. And obviously we put different people in and over the years there's been opportunity to take a win, and it's just not happened.
“So, to get it this win, I can't be any more proud of the team. Every single person within it brings that each to their own job. And with that, it's all come together to actually get the win, so everyone here deserves it and I think it's nice to finally get it done and got that off of our back.”
With a race win under their belts, expectations now rise accordingly, and the team is aiming to finish the 2024 campaign on a high note at Monza.
With Voisin in the points in the past six races, Waple hopes that he will keep that streak going while teammates Joseph Loake and Piotr Wisnicki will get the chance to show similar bursts in pace before the end.
Focus then immediately switches to 2025 and preparations for an all-new season and more opportunities.
“Well Callum now is on a on a six race points-scoring streak. We don't intend to break that so hopefully he can continue to do his bit at Monza. I think Joseph and Piotr have had great pace over the last few rounds as well.
“So, there's no reason why we can't have a very positive weekend and monitor as well. We want to continue this momentum now, hopefully we can take that through into the end of the season and into the testing and build into next year when we go with the new car. It's very exciting.”
