Interview
Grégoire Saucy says that things will need to be perfect for drivers on a fast lap to maximise their Qualifying potential.
A wet-to-dry Free Practice session limited running somewhat for everyone, and left some without an ideal time on the board following the 45-minute session.
Saucy says that while he was one of those that missed out, he understands the exact conditions he'll be aiming for to achieve the best grid slot possible at the Red Bull Ring.
"It was an interesting session. We started in the wet and it was drying while on the wets, then we moved onto slicks. We had every kind of conditions. In the wet, I was quite happy with the car’s balance, it was quite good. Then on the slicks it was still coming for me a bit, but I didn’t have a tow for my lap.
"In Qualifying and with a tow, it will be great. We only need one good lap in Qualifying. So we’ll need a good tow and keep at the limit. That’s my target."
Though part of the Practice session was completed in wet conditions, Saucy says that he is confident that he and his engineers will be able to identify the problem areas in time to address them pre-Qualifying.
A small off after running wide was the only issue Saucy faced in an otherwise confidence-building session.

"For me I went off one time, but you need to find the limit and be constant in it. We need only one lap and we need to try to be as fast as possible but stay on the limit.
"I think we had enough laps in the dry to understand how the balance was and to give that to the engineers. We’ll try and have the perfect car for Qualifying."
