ART Grand Prix ace Christian Lundgaard has been keeping himself busy since the Formula 3 finale at Sochi in September, with some minutes in the 2017-spec Renault F1 R.S.17.

The Dane climbed in the cockpit of the famous yellow and black machine for the second time this year, in Jerez. The drive follows a successful F3 post-season test at Valencia in October, where Lundgaard topped two of the three days, as the fastest on track.

“I had a good day in Jerez with a lot of laps completed,” Lundgaard told Renaultsport.com. “I was really happy to be here and I want to thank Renault for giving me another opportunity in a Formula 1 car.”

It was a successful afternoon for Lundgaard, who clocked up 106 laps and 465km in Jerez. The 18-year-old’s attention will now switch to the Macau Grand Prix on 14-17 November – a non-Championship event.

“It’s always a pleasure to driver this car on a race track and continue learning more about it and how to drive it. I felt like I improved since my last test in September and I’m growing more comfortable each time I step in the car. For me, I have the Macau Grand Prix to prepare for next and I can’t wait to head out there for that!”
