Jin Nakamura: My Ultimate Driver

INTELLIGENCE

“Kazuki Nakajima. He's one of my coaches, one of my big bosses. He’s quite intelligent and he has so much racing talent. On the other hand he is now working with a lot of young talent.

“He's developing a lot of drivers for the future of Japanese racing culture. I respect him quite a lot.”

WET WEATHER ABILITY

“In the wet, I was going to Max Verstappen, but I will go with Freddie Slater. It’s because of what he did in New Zealand, he was so quick in the wet.

“I saw the data, I was four-tenths off in only one corner. He's so crazy.”

Nakamura spoke about the respect he has for his coach Kazumi Nakajima

QUALIFYING PACE

“I think this time I will go with Max. It’s just every time he is up there.”

CORNERING ABILITY

“Lando Norris. I think he is consistent in qualifying every time.”

TYRE MANAGEMENT

“It’s just a feeling but I think it’s Oscar Piastri. He just looks so kind to the car, that he’s driving not so aggressively.”

Nakamura is impressed by a few of his former teammates including Enzo Deligny

SMOOTH DRIVING STYLE

“Akshay Bohra. His driving style is so smooth, it’s almost like he is cruising. It’s good.”

OVERTAKING ABILITY

“Enzo Deligny. Last year, he got contact in Race two at Paul Ricard, but he still came back quite quickly to the front. It was quite impressive.”
