Lawson’s victory continues Hitech Grand Prix’s turnaround of form in the Championship, after a tough opening three rounds. Starting from the front row for the first time, the Kiwi launched ahead of polesitter Logan Sargeant in the opening laps and was able to close out the win, with the help of a late safety car, which led him over the line.
