It was not the season PREMA Racing had hoped for in 2025, but 2026 offers a new opportunity for the five-time FIA Formula 3 Champions to get back on track.

With rookie Enzo Deligny joining second-year drivers Louis Sharp and James Wharton, the Italian outfit will be targeting a return to form this time around, with the title a clear target along with returning to the top step.

Ahead of the 2026 campaign getting underway, we look at what we can expect from PREMA Racing this season.

Proving 2025 was a blip

Last year marked the first time that PREMA has failed to win a single race across an F3 season, something the team will be fully focused on rectifying.

An improvement in form in the latter half of the season showed that the team appeared to be getting on top of issues that had hampered them in the initial stages of last year. We therefore could be seeing a more familiar level of performance from them from the start this season.

Team Principal Rene Rosin says the team has understood where they went wrong in the early months of 2025, and the stronger form, especially in Qualifying, at the back end of the previous season is a good sign of what could be this time around.

A top five finish in the Teams’ Standings will be the expectation going into the new campaign, and to help them get there, they have three drivers eager to prove their own points.

Ambitious drivers

PREMA have a trio of drivers who will be targeting bigger things this season also in their own right. In Wharton and Sharp, the team has two returning drivers who will feel they can achieve more in their second go around in F3.

The team also has Enzo Deligny joining them, who is coming off a P3 finish in the 2025 Formula Regional European Championship and in Macau at the back end of last year. The French driver arrives at PREMA fresh from his most successful single-seater effort to date, which puts him in a strong position going into the new season.

Wharton is a race winner in F3 after his Spielberg Sprint victory last season. He has previous experience working with PREMA, having competed with the Italian team almost uninterrupted since his single-seater debut back in 2022 across various series and championships. A return back to a familiar environment could be exactly what the Australian driver needs to find that next level in Formula 3.

Sharp narrowly missed out on a maiden podium in Imola last season but endured a tough second half of 2025. His move to PREMA provides him with a new environment and a fresh start to bounce back to his capable best. Like new teammate Wharton, Sharp is competing in the Formula Regional Oceania Trophy ahead of the 2026 F3 season and has already claimed one win so far.

The trio should be more than ready to help the team find their footing once again in a Championship it has conquered multiple times over, and race back to the front where PREMA will feel it belongs.
