Gerrard Xie handed post-race penalty following Budapest Feature Race

Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 3 Feature Race in Budapest, Gerrard Xie has been handed a post-race penalty.
The Hitech TGR driver was alleged to have caused a collision with PREMA Racing Car 3 of Ugo Ugochukwu.
The Stewards examined video evidence during the race and determined that Car 16 of Xie left the track in Turn 4 and returned to the circuit alongside Ugochukwu, but not before Car 3 had earned the rights to Turn 5.
Xie was handed a 10-second time penalty for the subsequent contact at Turn 5 on Lap 7 that left both drivers out of the race, with the Stewards deeming Car 16 wholly at fault for the contact.
Due to Xie’s not finishing the race, his time penalty is therefore converted into a five-place grid penalty. He is set to serve the grid penalty at the next race in which he competes.
