The dust has settled on the 2023 FIA Formula 3 campaign, but teams have been flat-out since Monza in their preparations for what comes next. Post-season testing at Jerez is up next and here is everything you need to know ahead of the two-days of on-track action.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The first of three two-day post-season tests, Jerez kicks the action off on Wednesday as teams look to solidify their learnings from the year and begin their preparations for next season.

Running from October 5-6, the test in Jerez will be the first opportunity since the ’23 campaign ended for teams to hit the track and gather any last bits of information and data before the winter break.

The first morning session will begin at 09:00 local time (GMT +2) and run to 12:00 with the afternoon session lasting from 14:00 to 17:00. Friday’s sessions will run from the same timings in the morning but start and finish one hour earlier in the afternoon, going from 13:00 to 16:00 local time.

Drivers will have the hard compound of Pirelli tyres available to use across the test.

THE FIELD

  • Of the 30 drivers that competed in the final race of the 2023 season, 13 return for post-season testing meaning that we will have 17 new faces taking part in Jerez.

  • Six teams will have a totally new driver line-up for the Jerez test, with PREMA Racing, Trident, Hitech Pulse-Eight and Van Amersfoort Racing bringing back at least one driver from their 2023 line-up. Dino Beganovic, Leonardo Fornaroli, Luke Browning and Tommy Smith are each driving for their respective teams from the F3 season.

  • Sophia Floersch, Mari Boya, Gabriele Minì, Oliver Gray, Christian Mansell, Oliver Goethe, Sebastián Montoya, Joshua Dufek and Taylor Barnard each are back with different teams while Max Esterson is also back driving in F3 having raced with Rodin Carlin earlier in 2023.
