He’s made a fast start to life in Formula 3 so how about we get to know Gabriele Minì a little bit better?

The Hitech Pulse-Eight driver is the latest Italian driver to make a surge up the single seater ladder, and arrives in F3 with plenty of expectation. From his time in karting, work for school and admiration of a Ferrari charger, here are a few things to help you know Minì some more.

NAME: Gabriele Minì DATE OF BIRTH: 20/03/2005 NATIONALITY: Italian 2022 TEAM: Hitech Pulse-Eight

EARLIEST RACING MEMORY?

"Winning WSK 60 Mini back in 2017, that’s the first memory that comes to mind. It was a not an easy year, I won the two biggest Championships in the 60 Mini which was the WSK Super Master Series and the Italian Championship. Those were really big to win. It was a hard season because the level of competition was so high, but it was an amazing series."

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE RACING MEMORY?

"I think the double podium at Zandvoort in 2021. It was after a tough start to the season, that comes to mind first. I really liked the track, it’s really physical but of course, you like the tracks where you’re fast. So Zandvoort is one of those for me, I’d say I like the track."

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RACING STYLE?

"I would say I can be quite aggressive, but I back out when I need to. Those are the two things I do best I would say. Of course, if you can be fast by being smooth then that’s perfect but sometimes you need to be aggressive. It’s all about finding the right compromise."

WHO IS YOUR RACING HERO?

"I’d say Charles Leclerc. He’s part of the new generation of drivers at the top in Formula 1 and I feel like Charles is one of the best there. I really like his story and his career. The race he did in Bahrain, gaining 15 positions in Formula 2, that’s not an easy thing to do."

WHAT DO YOU DO AWAY FROM RACING TO RELAX?

"To be honest, not much. Everything is mainly about racing. I train when I’m back home, almost every day and when I’m not doing that, I’m at school. I do a bit of everything, gym, cycling – because it’s nice to see some scenery. I do a lot of running too."

WHAT IS YOUR SECRET TALENT?

"I can complete a Rubik’s Cube in under 20 seconds. My personal best is like 13 seconds but on average, it’s around 20 seconds."

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE TRACK ON THE F3 CALENDAR?

"I’d have to say Monaco. It’s a very cool track, famous street circuit. I’ve been there for the past couple of years and I’ve really enjoyed driving there every time."
