A month on from his last time behind the wheel of the #28 car, Alejandro García is looking to start the European leg of his rookie Formula 3 season off on the right foot.
Before Round 3 gets underway in Imola this weekend, the Jenzer Motorsport driver gave us the lowdown on growing up in Mexico City and the best spots to pick up his favourite food – tacos.
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
“Mexico City – my area is a cool normal neighbourhood in Mexico with people and houses.”
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE IT TO SOMEONE?
“It’s quite fun! There are some tacos nearby, so every time I can go home, I stop by and eat some tacos. It’s a beautiful place, very cool. It has a lot of cultural places with a lot of story and delicious food.”
WHAT LANGUAGES ARE SPOKEN THERE?
“People mostly speak Spanish and a little bit of English.”
WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE?
“It’s very tropical like all year long. 24°C to 27°C is quite fine.”
WHERE SHOULD TOURISTS VISIT?
“I would take them to the centre of Mexico City, particularly the old centre of the city. You transport yourself to the 1800s, it’s amazing! It’s like you actually go back to the old times and transport yourself to the old Mexico City, and it’s really beautiful.”
FAVOURITE PLACE TO GO FOR FOOD?
“The taco place near my home!”
MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHERE CAN WE GO KARTING?
“There’s a karting circuit nearby. It’s quite cool, I used to race there when I was a kid.”
