Where else other than his homeland in Mexico, that’s where Alejandro García hopes to stage his mega race weekend with a party atmosphere like no other.

The Jenzer Motorsport driver details all the most important parts of his ideal race, including the trophy design and how the circuit might be laid out.

WHERE WOULD YOU STAGE THE RACE?

“Mexico City, it’s where I was born and it’s my home race and it would be cool to see all my friends and family watch me race.”

WHEN WOULD THE RACE BE HELD?

“Summer, May time. Everyone has finished school and wants to go summer and party, release a bit of stress, they’d go to the race a little bit more excited.”

DAY RACE OR NIGHT RACE?

“Night race. I haven’t raced at night but I really want to.”

STREET TRACK OR PURPOSE BUILT?

“I’d have a purpose-built circuit. A really fast circuit too. It would be built near the centre, just a very fast layout.”

WET OR DRY RACE?

“Dry race for sure. It would be nice to have Qualifying in the wet but then both Races in the dry. I like Qualifying in the wet, it’s exciting. Every lap you do you get better and it’s up to the drivers.”

HOW WOULD THE TRACK BE LAID OUT?

“I would do a few long straights, hard braking zones and then after, quick corners, especially like Silverstone’s sector two, the esses, I’d like something like that. Long corners that build up really high speeds. The last corner from Monza too, I would love that.”

WHAT TYRE COMPOUNDS WOULD YOU BRING?

“Pirelli softs. I prefer the hard tyres for the races, actually I’d go hard. For the races it would be better.”

WHICH CELEBRITIES WOULD YOU INVITE TO THE RACE?

“Kevin Hart. I love Kevin Hart, would love to have him here to watch me race. I’m a big fan.”

WHICH MUSICAL ARTIST WOULD YOU PICK TO PLAY THAT WEEKEND?

“Maybe Justin Bieber. Otherwise, it would be Elvis Presley. Why not?”

WHAT WOULD THE PODIUM CELEBRATION BE LIKE?

“I’m having a DJ on the podium, like in the Mexico GP when the podium turns around, but with a better party atmosphere.”

WHAT WOULD THE TROPHY LOOK LIKE?

“A big one, but with different colours, like the colours of the Mexican flag and an eagle on the trophy.”

ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D ADD?

“I’d allow more people to attend. I would love it to be the highest-attended Grand Prix ever. I would love that.”
