Colnaghi and Gladysz penalized following Monza Qualifying session

Following the conclusion of FIA Formula 3 Qualifying at Monza, two drivers have been handed penalties.

Firstly, Mattia Colnaghi has been handed a grid penalty.

The MP Motorsport driver was summoned to the Stewards after an alleged unsafe release during the session.

The Stewards examined the incident and heard from the driver and team representative, and determined that Car 7 had been released into the path of Car 1, Campos Racing’s Theophile Nael in an unsafe manner.

As a result, the Stewards awarded a three-place grid penalty to Colnaghi. The MP driver will serve the penalty in both the Sprint and Feature Races at Monza.

Additionally, Maciej Gladysz has also been handed a grid penalty.

The ART Grand Prix driver was alleged to have been involved in an unsafe release during Qualifying, a potential breach of Article 28.12 (a) of the FIA Formula 3 Sporting Regulations.

Following the session, the Stewards examined the incident and heard from both the driver and team representative. They determined that Car 11 had been released into the path of Car 5, TRIDENT’s Freddie Slater in an unsafe manner.

As a result, they applied a three-place grid penalty to the ART driver. Gladysz will serve the penalty in both the Sprint and Feature Race this weekend.

Finally, Car 1 of Nael and Car 25 of Jin Nakamura have been given permission to start both races this weekend after failing to set a time within 107% in Qualifying.

Both drivers will start from the back of the grid after the application of any other penalties in accordance with Article 34.2 of the FIA Formula 3 Sporting Regulations.
