Andres given 20 second time penalty

Keyvan Andres was given a drive through penalty after this morning’s F3 Race 1 in Barcelona, which has since been converted into a 20 second time penalty, following contact between the HWA RACELAB driver and Fabio Scherer of Sauber Junior Team by Charouz during the reconnaissance lap.
The incident took place between Turn 9 and Turn 10 and is a breach Appendix L Chapter IV, Article 2 (d) of the 2019 FIA International Sporting Code.
Andres, who originally finished P28 with a time 38:49.724, was found to be at fault after extensive consideration by the Stewards, and the penalty sees the Iranian remain P28 but with a time of 39:09.724.
This final classification will see the HWA RACELAB driver start from the back of the grid for tomorrow’s Race 2 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
