Nakamura made his single-seater debut back in 2022 in Japanese F4, finishing fourth before returning for a second season and improving to P2 in the Standings.
He then raced in the Super Formula Lights and Super GT series’, finishing fourth and sixth respectively in 2024.
The 19-year-old also competed the Formula Regional Middle East Championship earlier this year, taking one win and a further podium result on the way to 10th in the standings.
Speaking about his F3 promotion, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Driver Challenge Programme driver said he was proud to be racing with Hitech next year.
“I am very proud to be joining Hitech for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season. It has been a dream to race in this championship. I am grateful to the team for their trust, and to Toyota Gazoo Racing, who have supported me throughout my racing journey. I have learned so much competing in Japan and Europe, and I feel well prepared to take on this next challenge. I can’t wait to get started in testing and prepare for a strong debut next year.”
Paul Bellringer, Hitech’s FIA Formula 3 Team Manager added: “We’re excited to welcome Jin to the team for 2026. He has established himself as a very versatile driver, adapting well to different categories of racing, and I’m sure that will continue as he steps up to FIA Formula 3. His performances in FRECA and FRMEC have shown strong potential, with consistent podiums and points finishes underlining his clear development. We look forward to working closely with him and helping him maximise his potential as he takes this next step in his career.”
