Jake Hughes Rolls The Dice

This new feature explores the alternate side to our racing drivers. What’s always in their fridge? What do they do in their spare time? What’s on their bucket list? The drivers simply have to roll a set of dice and answer questions that link to the numbers they roll.

3. What items are always in your fridge?

Yogurt, orange juice and milk I’d say. There is chocolate, but it’s not for me, it’s for my brother because he’s addicted. There is loads of cheese as well, but again that’s not for me that's for my mother. Nothing bad in the fridge is for me.

2. Who is your idol?

In motorsport, as a driver it’s Lewis Hamilton, purely because when he started in 2007 I wasn’t watching formula 1 so because he was on the news as the new superstar, I started watching. For that reason, he got me into motorsport.

I would say generally, I am a big fan of Chris Froome, the cyclist. Cycling is my second hobby at the moment, so I would say those two guys.

5. What is your guilty pleasure?

Ben and Jerry's cookie dough ice cream, exactly that one, there is no debate.

8. What do you do in your spare time?

At the moment, it is pretty much just cycling as I am pretty addicted to it at the moment. The problem is as a driver, your job is on the weekend so most of my friends are at work. I am normally at home by myself and have to kill the time so going cycling for a few hours is what I like to do.

Birmingham is not so hilly where I live, but it has got some good routes to cycle. I am planning to go to Majorca sometime in the summer when we are not racing, which is popular for cyclists.

11. What things are on your bucket list?

Sky diving, but I am not in a rush to do that. At some point, it is something I want to do. My mum doesn’t like me already because I do motorsport and cycling and now I want to sky dive laughs.

This is quite a personal one, but my football team is Aston Villa and I would like to see them lift a trophy. They haven’t won anything for a long time so I would like to be at the final, or whatever it is, when we do that. I am speaking ahead of the playoffs, so that could come quite soon.
