Before the 2023 FIA Formula 3 season draws to a close, the cars will take to the track one last time for the third post-season test at Imola.

The two days of running around the Italian circuit present the teams’ final opportunity to get mileage on the board, as focus shifts towards preparations for next year.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Taking place on Monday, October 23 and Tuesday, October 24, the event will once again be split into two morning and afternoon sessions. A total of 12 hours of track time will be available for field to use across the test.

On both days, morning running will commence at 09:00 local time (GMT +2) and end at 12:00. Day 1’s afternoon session will get underway at 14:00 until 17:00, whilst the second afternoon will start at 13:30 and testing will conclude at 16:30.

Unlike the previous two tests in Jerez and Barcelona, the yellow-walled medium Pirelli tyres will be available in Imola.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Oliver Goethe’s pace looked strong once again behind the wheel of the #23 Campos Racing car. Having previously gone quickest on the opening day in Jerez, the German driver set the fastest time of the Barcelona test, posting 1:26.675 to conclude Day 2’s morning running.
  • Securing the P2 spot for the second consecutive test, Gabriele Minì led PREMA Racing’s efforts, finishing three tenths off Goethe’s best lap.
  • Van Amersfoort Racing’s Noel León was the fastest rookie around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Mexican driver earned a spot inside the top nine on the timing sheets across both days of running.
  • MP Motorsport kept their trio busy, clocking in a total of 436 laps. Red Bull junior Tim Tramnitz laid down 147 laps of his own for the Dutch squad, the most out of the field.
