Jenzer Motorsport rookie Charlie Wurz is fresh from his best weekend in F3 so far but what would his ideal event look?

We put it to the Austrian and asked him to design his dream race weekend and he goes close to home for a revamped Monte Carlo visit.

Here’s what he came up with.

WHERE WOULD THE RACE BE HELD?

“I would hold the race – I was thinking about this recently actually – so I live in Monaco and it’s my hometown, and I would change a few parts. There are some really nice parts there already but I would do more like a long, long track. Nürburgring or a rally stage around Monaco. It would be crazy, very interesting.”

WHEN WOULD THE RACE HAPPEN?

“Good question. I’d say August. Because I’m the boss, I want to make a lot of money and everyone wants to come to Monaco around August so I’d choose then.”

DAY OR NIGHT RACE?

“Night race. Has to be a night race. Have to get some headlamps on the front of the cars like the good old days.”

WET OR DRY RACE?

“Dry, otherwise everyone’s gonna crash.”

HOW WOULD THE LAYOUT CHANGE?

“So I’d have a bit of a hillclimb phase, going up the hill and then just above Monaco there’s this hill that’s halfway between a motorway and a normal road, they can go down there. I ride down there on my road bike and it’s super flowing. Then you can go all the way down to Mentone, and then U-turn, probably too tight for the cars but then go all the way along back down to Monaco. I think it’s fast and flowing and can run side-by-side for a bit.”

WHAT TYRES WOULD YOU BRING?

“Softs. It would be so slippery otherwise. Or Mediums to be safe.”

WHO WOULD YOU INVITE AS GUESTS?

“I would invite whoever wants to come. Everyone will want to. Anyone can come, free entry to the garage.”

WHICH ARTSITS WOULD YOU INVITE?

“I do enjoy some deep house music. Actually, I’d bring my brothers who DJ. Get them involved and they can drive too.”

WHAT WOULD THE PODIUM LOOK LIKE?

“The podium would be an upgrade of the current one. Make it extra spectacular. Do it on the port, make them appear out of the water.”

WHAT WOULD THE TROPHIES LOOK LIKE?

“I think if you did a map of the circuit it would be too big. I’d just do classic map of Monaco, because it’s not that big so maybe just an outline of Monaco.”

ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D ADD?

“I think this is a bit too crazy. I think it seems like a good weekend. Expensive, but it’s got everything.”
