A season which was led by one driver and one driver only, Gabriel Bortoleto put together his finest campaign to date to win the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Drivers’ Championship with Trident.
The Brazilian was imperious, taking the lead of the Championship following Round 1 and holding onto it all the way to the end, eventually crowned Champion at Monza.
He opened the campaign with Feature Race victory in Sakhir and followed that up with a win on Australian shores around Melbourne’s Albert Park street circuit. From there, he added another four podium finishes to secure his crown, while PREMA Racing made it four Teams’ Championships in Formula 3, taking the 2023 honours.
Zak O’Sullivan eventually finished second to Bortoleto as the fight for the best of the rest went to the very final race. He beat out Paul Aron, with the Estonian finishing third in the Drivers’ Championship.
