Having impressed in Spanish F4 earlier in his single seater career and taking on Le Mans during a spell in sports cars, Franco Colapinto graduated to FIA F3 in 2022 with Van Amersfoort Racing.
The Argentine impressed quickly, earning Pole Position on debut in Sakhir in Round 1 before earning a first victory for himself and the team at Imola later in the season.
He rounded out his rookie campaign with victory at Monza in the Sprint Race en route to ninth in the Drivers’ Championship.
He returned to F3 in 2023, switching to MP Motorsport and showed improvement in year two. He earned five podium finishes including two victories and finished the year fourth in the Standings.
It brought promotion to F2 for 2024, as he stuck with MP Motorsport for the step up.
Ahead of the 2024 Italian Grand Prix, it was announced the Colapinto would make stepping up to Formula 1 with Williams, joining the team for the final nine races of the season.
