1- What does the Race weekend Format consist of?

A race weekend is made of:

  • 1 Free Practice (45 minutes)
  • 1 Qualifying Session (30 minutes)
  • 3 Races of 40 minutes each

FRIDAY > Free Practice and Qualifying SATURDAY > Race 1 and Race 2 SUNDAY > Race 3

2- How are the 3 starting grids decided?

  • Race 1 Grid – Top 12 from Friday Qualifying classification is reversed to set grid for Saturday Race 1.

  • Race 2 Grid – Top 12 from Race 1 classification is reversed to set grid for Saturday Race 2.

  • Race 3 Grid – Qualifying classification from Friday sets grid for Race 3.

3- What is the points allocation in the races?

  • Races 1 & 2

The winner is allocated 15 points. Second and third places are awarded with 12 and 10 points, respectively. 4th place – 8 pts 5th place – 6 pts 6th place – 5 pts 7th place – 4 pts 8th place – 3 pts 9th place – 2 pts 10th place - 1 pt

  • Race 3

The winner is allocated 25 points. Second and third places are awarded with 18 and 15 points, respectively. 4th place – 12 pts 5th place – 10 pts 6th place – 8 pts 7th place – 6 pts 8th place – 4 pts 9th place – 2 pts 10th place – 1 pt

4- Why are there more points awarded in the Sunday race (Race 3)?

The starting grid of Race 3 is decided by the Friday Qualifying results. Moreover, it takes place ahead of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, in front of a larger crowd.

5- How many points are allocated for Pole Position?

4 points are allocated for Pole Position.

Note: if the driver who has set the quickest laptime of the Qualifying Session receives a grid penalty for Race 3, he will no longer be eligible for the points for Pole Position. Only the driver who starts from Pole Position in Race 3 is allocated 4 points. To clarify, when a driver is promoted to Pole Position, he is credited of 4 points even if he did not set the quickest laptime in Qualifying.

6- Are drivers starting from reverse pole position in Races 1 and 2 awarded 4 points too?

No. Only the driver who starts from Pole Position on Sunday is allocated 4 points.

7- What is the maximum number of points a driver can score in one race weekend?

65 points

8- What is the maximum number of points a team can score in one race weekend?

142 points

9- How many points are allocated for Fastest Lap? Who is eligible for Fastest Lap points?

2 points are awarded for Fastest Lap in each race.

Since 2021, points for Fastest Lap are awarded to the quickest driver of the race only if he classifies in the Top 10. Failing that, no points are awarded for Fastest Lap.

10- Which Grade License is needed to race in F3, and what is the minimum age to compete in the championship?

Grade A or B.

The minimum age to compete in Formula 3 is 16 years old.
